Cathy Mitchell
Cathy is a specialist in family and criminal law.
She has many years experience conducting cases involving applications for contact, child arrangement orders, emergency applications, non molestation injunctions, disputes over matrimonial property and finances as well as care proceedings. Cathy acts on behalf of both applicants and respondents and accepts instructions that are either privately funded or legally aided.
Cathy accepts instructions in all aspects of criminal law at Magistrates and Crown Court levels.
She has particular experience in defending motoring matters including speeding, drink driving and drug driving and regularly undertakes exceptional hardship arguments and special reasons arguments.
Prior to practicing at the independent Bar, Cathy previously worked for the Crown Prosecution Service in Liverpool, becoming a Crown Advocate based at the Crown Court.
Cathy also has a special interest in transport matters, as chair of one of the last remaining municipal bus companies in the country.
Cathy is qualified to accept Direct Access instructions.
